NCEA Level 3 Art - Design

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr J. Manuel.

Students investigate the work of many different artists in order to learn and understand the ideas and the skills required to produce works in a similar style.

We experiment with artwork in a general course in preparation for the following disciplines; Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Photography or Design. Skills in Photography can also be applied to any of these disciplines. Freehand or computer drawing skills are required to plan the artworks. After consultation with the teacher students plan a course of study based on 3-5 different designers/design styles in order to plan and produce finished works in their selected discipline for the External Portfolio.
