NCEA Level 2 Geography

Course Description

Geography develops our understanding of social and physical processes within the context of places and regions - recognising the great differences in cultures, political systems, economies, landscapes and environments across the world, and the links between them.

Geography provides an ideal framework for relating other fields of knowledge and fosters many transferable skills relevant to the demands of the modern workplace.

We will be studying the global pattern of Maritime Piracy, the urban pattern of Murder in Chicago, differences in development between Afghanistan and the USA, and Geographic Skills and you will carry out Geographic research.

Recommended Prior Learning

If students have not studied Level 1 Geography they should seek approval from the HOD.
